NTU (Neonatal Transport Unit)

A neonatal transport unit is used for safe transfer of new born from the birth place, typically a primary health care centre, to a secondary or tertiary healthcare facility, in case of any medical emergency. The existing neonatal ambulance, operated by EMRI, is a retrofit design and hence has scope for improved space utilisation and better ergonomics. HTIC is currently developing designs for a custom built neonatal transport unit to address the above limitations. Specific design innovations to allow easy loading of the incubator into the vehicle and reduce vibration endured by the neonate in transport are currently under development
