Speaker Bio

Dr. Yvonne is currently a postdoc at Radboud University Medical Centre. She designed her PhD research herself, which deals with the influence of sedentary behavior on the health of patients with cardiovascular risk factors. The research focuses (among other things) on the impact of sedentary behavior in patients with cardiovascular risk factors and tried to answer the question of how to prevent this.

Her scientific work covers the entire spectrum of biomedical research: from molecule to human to population. One of the innovative approaches of this project is illustrated by the development of a seatless intervention in co-creation with patients with cardiovascular disease. This intervention is one of the first in the world to successfully reduce sitting behavior and is suitable for use in daily practice, for all types of patients with chronic diseases. Also, as a postdoc, Yvonne is researching various projects in the field of physical activity and cardiovascular health, such as the clinical study of an exercise and diet intervention in ovarian cancer patients and she is the project leader of the physiological measurements in the Healthy Brain Study.
